Compared with other protective components, at stand-by state, the SHV series with high impedance (several mega ohms) will not affect the characteristics of circuit design. While an instant surge occurs (over breakdown voltage), the impedance of component becomes low (only a few ohms) to lead the major current through the loop to protect the electronic products or expensive components.
