The devices between Ethernet connections are very expensive, but with weak protective ability for surge, especially for outdoor WLAN system. Once struck by lightning, the devices will be destroyed, signal interruption and data lost. Over the years, surge protection becomes the difficulties for base infrastructure. Network system is mainly composed of an antenna, wireless AP, switches, servers and other equipment, hazard is mainly derived from direct lightning and indirect lightning pulse. The direct lightning strike the Internet system equipment and cause damage directly.
In recent years, VoIP, WLAN, network video, and surveillance develop rapidly, for equipment IP phone, wireless AP, and IP CAM, with the complicated circuit layout, difficulty to take power, high cost, Ethernet power supply technology allows powered devices via Ethernet data signals transmitted by the network at the same time to provide some power electrical equipment DC, to ensure the normal operation of the existing networking to decrease the cost, that is PoE technology. The main function of SHN Series is for surge protection for networking devices. Because of the PoE technology upgraded, the surge protection requirements will be more than before.
